  • Cultural Gastronomy & Hospitality: Savor a snow - mountain barbecue in Dêla Pasture, dine in a Tibetan family home for authentic flavors, and enjoy a nature - themed afternoon tea at Napa Lake—tasting the region’s culture through every meal.

Itinerary

DAY 1 Nationwide → Lijiang (Arrival Day)

All-Day Overview: Arrival day with no scheduled group activities. You may arrive in Lijiang at any time. Leader and hotel confirmation will be provided 4 days prior to departure.

DAY 2 Lijiang → Shangri-La (Hike & Refined Outdoor Experience beneath Snow Peaks)

All-Day Overview: Depart Lijiang for Shangri-La. Today we head into the area near Haba Village for a lightly challenging yet comfortable alpine experience: pastoral scenery, a viewpoint barbecue, and meadow/forest walking under snow mountain views.
 
Core Experiences:
  • Dêla Pasture Snow-Mountain Barbecue Lunch:

    Midday drive to Dêla Pasture; enjoy a distinctive outdoor barbecue at a mountain viewing platform—melding scenery and flavour.

  • Crossing Pastures & Forest:

    Afternoon niche hike beginning at Dêla Pasture. Traverse highland meadows and patches of primitive forest; possible encounters with grazing yaks and sheep; sense of purity and calm.

  • Evening:

    Drive back to Shangri-La town.

DAY 3 Shangri-La → Deqin (Road of Pilgrimage toward Meili)

All-Day Overview: A culturally and spiritually resonant day: grand monastery architecture, Tibetan home hospitality, symbolic pre‑pilgrimage blessing, and first encounter with the line of Meili’s Thirteen Peaks.
 
Core Experiences:
  • Visit Ganden Sumtseling Monastery:

    Morning visit to the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery complex in Yunnan; absorb scale, murals, and devotional atmosphere.

  • Tibetan Family Lunch:

    Midday hosted meal in a local Tibetan home—sampling authentic “home flavours”.

  • Receiving the “Key” for Kora:

    Before reaching Deqin, stop at Qudeng Pavilion for a simple blessing-style ritual, echoing what locals may do prior to a mountain circumambulation—symbolically “obtaining the key” to greet Kawagebo.

  • First View of Meili Thirteen Peaks:

    Arrive at Feilai Temple (Feilai Si) area by late afternoon / evening; weather permitting, the alignment of Meili’s Thirteen Peaks unveils in dramatic sequence.

  • Drive Time: Approx. 4 hrs / 200 km.

DAY 4 Deqin → Shangri-La (Awaiting Golden Sunrise on Sacred Peaks)

All-Day Overview: Early alpine wake-up for the famed Meili “sunrise golden peaks” phenomenon, followed by a short-format pilgrimage-style hike segment, then return toward Shangri-La for wetland afternoon tea, farewell dinner, and evening exploration of an old Tibetan town.
 
Core Experiences:
  • Sunrise “Golden Peaks”:

    Pre-dawn departure to quietly await first light. As the sun strikes Kawagebo (main summit) and sequentially lights the Thirteen Peaks in gold, it creates a powerful, lasting visual memory (weather dependent).

  • Short Pilgrimage Trail Light Hike (8 km):

    A manageable 8 km hike facing Baima Snow Mountain area—experiencing physical movement connected to local devotion; gentle gradients suitable even for newer hikers.

  • Napa Lake Natural Afternoon Tea:

    En route back, pause at Napa Lake (highland wetland) for a distinctive nature-themed afternoon tea—an easing transition from exertion to relaxation.

  • Farewell Dinner:

    Group dinner (guests may voluntarily write reflections on the journey, notes to fellow travellers, or feedback for brand “Mydetra”).

  • Night Stroll in Dukezong:

    Free evening exploration of Dukezong Old Town, the “Moonlight City”; optionally visit Guishan Park to turn one of the world’s largest prayer wheels, extending blessings to family and friends.

DAY 5 Shangri-La → Lijiang (Departure / Disband)

All-Day Overview: Final travel day. We return from Shangri-La to Lijiang, concluding the journey.
 
Core Experience:
  • Farewell Option:

    You may choose to leave the group directly in Shangri-La OR travel with the main group back to Lijiang. Estimated arrival at Lijiang Sanyi Airport around 14:30—plan onward flights with sufficient buffer.

Can I change the travel date?

Yes—please tell us at least 16 days before Day 1 of your trip. There are two situations:

  1. Join‑in Group (shared departure)
  • You can move to another scheduled departure date. If the new date is cheaper, we refund the difference; if it is more expensive, you pay the difference.
  • You can also upgrade to a Private Tour (choose any date). A higher fee applies; you pay only the difference.
  1. Private Tour (exclusive)
  • You can shift to any new date (subject to availability). Because of high / low season rates, there may be a price difference—we refund or you top up accordingly.

Important: “Pay the difference / refund the difference” means we adjust to the new date’s published price.

Please contact us early—availability is always better the sooner you decide.

Do I need to apply visa?

Most travelers still need a visa, but many nationalities now enjoy short visa‑free entry or transit exemptions. Check if:

  1. Your passport is on the current visa‑free list;
  2. You qualify for a 72/144‑hour transit exemption; or
  3. You are joining an approved Hainan or cruise program.
    If none apply, you must apply for an L (tourist) visa before arrival. Always verify with the nearest Chinese embassy/visa center because policies change.
