A Journey to Guilin in the Golden Autumn of 2024 — Longji Terraced Fields
D1: Jinkeng Grand Village — Tiantou Village — Xishan Shaole — Qianceng Tianti
At 8 o'clock on October 18th, we took the special line bus to Longji Terraced Fields at the No. 1 tourist bus parking lot of Guilin North Railway Station. We arrived at the Jinkeng Grand Village parking lot of Longji Terraced Fields at 11 o'clock, and then transferred to a medium-sized bus heading for Tiantou Village. After arriving at the station, we called the boss of the Golden Field Hotel, and he drove to pick us up.
The hotel is located on the mountain. We reserved it one day in advance. The boss helped us book the tickets for the outbound special line bus and the medium-sized bus ticket to Tiantou Village, which brought us great convenience.
Jinkeng Grand Village has the largest area and there are three viewing platforms:
The No. 1 Viewing Platform (Xishan Shaole) It is at a high terrain with a good view, suitable for watching the sunrise, and you can go down to the terraced fields to take photos.
The No. 2 Viewing Platform (Qianceng Tianti) The terraced fields here are spectacular with distinct layers, and you can go down to the terraced fields.
The No. 3 Viewing Platform (Jinfo Peak) It is on another hilltop. The round-trip cable car ride up the mountain costs 100 yuan, and it takes 3 hours to go there and back on foot.
The hotel we stayed in was not far from the viewing platforms. It only took a few minutes to walk there.
If you want to see the most beautiful scenery, you need to go to the No. 1 Viewing Platform. Walk along the road from here. After passing by Yundu · Panoramic Mountain Residence, keep walking up and you will reach the No. 1 (Xishan Shaole) Viewing Platform. It takes about 20 minutes to walk there. If you don't want to exert too much effort, it's also nice to view the scenery here. We plan to go to the No. 1 Viewing Platform to watch the sunrise tomorrow morning.
Walk along the path to the No. 2 Viewing Platform (Qianceng Tianti). On the way close to the No. 2 Viewing Platform, we saw the Qixing Zhuiyue scenic spot.
The highest terraced fields shown in the picture are those of the No. 3 (Jinfo Peak), and below them, up close, is the Qixing Zhuiyue.

At 2 pm, it started to rain. We walked to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain and called the boss to drive and pick us up.

At 5 o'clock, the rain stopped and a rainbow appeared. We quickly left the hotel and went to the viewing platform to see the rainbow and the sea of clouds.
We captured a double rainbow at the viewing platform.
We spent 1 hour at the viewing platform and saw the sea of clouds and the rainbow. It was really beautiful.
D2: Xishan Shaole — Jinfo Peak
It rained on and off last night. At 7 o'clock in the morning, the rain stopped. We couldn't see the sunrise today, so we decided to go to the nearest viewing platform.
We went back to the hotel for breakfast at 8:00. However, it started to rain lightly again. We waited until 10 o'clock when the rain stopped. We picked up our umbrellas and set off for the No. 1 Viewing Platform. My husband walked along a small path to the No. 3 Viewing Platform by himself. After his visit, we met at the Jinkeng Grand Village parking lot.
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery as we walked.
Finally, we climbed up to the No. 1 Viewing Platform.
We took photos at the No. 1 Viewing Platform for 20 minutes and then started to go down the mountain. We took some photos on the path beside the paddy fields. It was really beautiful.

It took us one and a half hours to go to the No. 1 Viewing Platform and back. We returned to the hotel at 11:30.

At 13:50 in the afternoon, the boss drove us to the Tiantou Village parking lot. At 14:00, we took a medium-sized bus and returned to the Jinkeng Grand Village parking lot. At 14:30, we took the special line bus at the Jinkeng Grand Village parking lot and headed back to Guilin. The 8-day trip to Guilin ended successfully. Goodbye, Guilin.
