DAY 2 Tengchong (Ancient Town Stroll & Hot Spring Renewal)

All-Day Overview: At dawn enter Qiluo Ancient Town—celebrated in Ming-era travel writings (Xu Xiake)—then visit the “quiet/back side” of Heshun Ancient Town in the afternoon, finishing with deep relaxation at the renowned Bolian Hot Springs.

Core Experiences:
  • Strolling Qiluo Ancient Town:

Wander a town of 300+ years’ pastoral memory; browse the early produce market, offer a blessing at Guanyin Pavilion, appreciate the mirrored scene of “temple reflecting water; water reflecting temple,” and sample the tranquil half-day rhythm of local life.

  • Embracing Heshun’s Ancient Trees:

Avoiding the heavily touristed main frontage, we go to Heshun’s lesser-visited side—where towering old trees form a green canopy. Under these elders we offer simple well-wishes and walk basalt / volcanic-stone lanes.

  • Soaking at Bolian Hot Springs:

Toward evening, immerse in medicinal pools, milk bath pools, and other thematic springs. Gentle ancient-town breeze, distant layered hills—total body-mind release.

Service Details:

  • Meals: Hotel breakfast included.
  • Drive: Approx. 1 hr total / 21 km.

DAY 3 Tengchong (Gaoligong Mountain Hike & Forest Picnic)

Core Experiences:
  • Gaoligong Mountain Hike:

Guided by a local ranger into a natural oxygen bar (forest coverage reported above 90%). A sustained, refreshing hike answers the mountain’s call. With luck, observe or responsibly gather edible wild mushrooms—only under ranger confirmation (do not self-consume unidentified fungi).

  • Forest Picnic:

Sample dishes prepared from produce grown in the mountain’s ecological plots—evoking provisions of historical mule caravans (mabang).

Possible inconsistency in original text referencing “explore Lijiang Ancient Town”—location here is Tengchong; confirm if this should instead read “free exploration in Tengchong.”
